Thanks to Bud for letting me know about taking out the glove compartment so I can view the "blend door arm" to see if it is working or not working. My question is - if it is not working can I manually adjust that from the glove compartment to allow heat in my Mark? Thanks in advance.

Sorry /bout that...no, it's a fairly involved repair. Dealer charges between 500-1000 dollars. You have to remove a good portion of the dash. Do a search on "blend door" and/or go here: http://mark8.org/lod/blend_door_repair.htm

Tried your suggestion about pulling down the glove compartment - well I undid the string that holds it up and the compartment door did not drop down anymore. Very difficult to see much up there under the dash. I did regulate the temp up and down but had a hard time seeing if anything was moving.
Don't know what to do next.

Did you do a search here on the blend door? Somewhere in the electrical forum there where pics of the arm to the blend door and a method of manually moving it to confirm failure.

just replaced my blend door today, took just under 4 hours, it's alot worse talking about it than it is actually doing it that's for sure
